South African double amputee athlete Oscar Pistorius who shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp dead at his home in Pretoria South Africa in the early hours of Feb. 14th 2013, has released a statement on the one year remembrance of the model's tragic death.
The statement in part reads
"No words can adequately capture my feelings about the devastating accident that has caused such heartache for everyone who truly loved and continues to love Reeva. The pain and sadness, especially for Reeva's parents, family and friends consumes me with sorrow. The loss of Reeva and the complete trauma of that day, I will carry with me for the rest of my life." he wrote.Oscar is standing trial for Reeva's murder, an allegation he has consistently denied and claims it was an accident. He claims he mistook Reeva for an intruder and shot her four times in the head and hand in self defense. His trial begins on the 8th of March.
