Rapper Ice-T's Grandson Arrested for Accidentally Killing Roommate





Elyjah Marrow, rapper Ice T's grandson, has been arrested after he accidentally shot and killed his roommate.
According to police, 19-year-old Marrow was fiddling with a handgun in his Georgia apartment Tuesday when it accidentally went off, fatally wounding roommate Daryus Johnson, who was also 19.

PhotoNews: Ejigbo Pepper Sodomy Case Suspects Arraigned Lagos Magistrate Court

 
Ten suspects in the Ejigbo pepper torture, sodomy and rape case were arraigned in a Lagos Magistrate court sitting at Igbosere today.

The magistrate, A.O. Adedayo granted bail to all ten of the arraigned suspects. Four other suspects, principal among whom is "Tiri" an OPC chieftain in Ejigbo are still at large. 

World Cup 2014: Super Eagles boycott training over bonus money


Super Eagles players reportedly missed a scheduled training session yesterday after a disagreement with officials of the National Football Federation over bonus money.

BBC Sports reports that the players believe they are each $15,000 (£8,800) short of what they were expecting for reaching the last 16 in Brazil.

100 men, women and children who died in the June 23rd and 24th ethnic clash that happened in Sanga LGA in Southern Kaduna, Kaduna state were yesterday June 26th given a mass burial in a parcel of land between Gwantu Kurmi and Kobin in the Local government.

Governor Okorocha Urged To Stop Discriminatory Identity Card Project For Northerners In Imo State


The All Progressives Congress (APC) South East has called on Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha to rescind what it called the “unconstitutional and undemocratic” plan to issue identity cards to Northerners in the state.

In a statement by Osita Okechukwu, spokesman for APC South East Zone, it said while it condemned the devilish and heinous atrocities of the Boko Haram elements, it believed that they are not executing a Northern script, describing their agenda opaque and futile.

Abuja Shopping Mall Explosion: How Soldiers Killed One Suspect, and Arrested Another


Scenes From the Latest Bombing 
 One of the suspects who were alleged to have carried out the attack of the Abuja Shopping Mall on Wednesday, has been arrested by the Nigerian Military. The suspect was arrested shortly after the blast, while the mop-up crew at the scene of the attack was on-going. The second suspect was shot dead, while fleeing on a power bike motorcycle. The shooting took place, witnesses say, after he was asked to stop by the security, but had refused to heed to their directive.

Fatal accident along Lagos-Ibadan expressway, 6 confirmed dead


A fatal multiple vehicle accident occurred this morning June 27 along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway leaving at least six people dead and causing a traffic gridlock on the road. The accident happened around the Berger/Kara axis of the expressway and was caused by a truck trying to avoid another parked on the road since last month. The APC has released a statement saying they are going to court to challenge the process of the recently concluded governorship election in Ekiti State, for what it termed the militarization of Ekiti during the campaign and election period. Muntari, who plays for AC Milan, and Boateng, who represents Schalke, have both been dismissed by coach Kwesi Appiah for disciplinary reasons and have been suspended "indefinitely" by the country.
Muntari is alleged to have slapped Ghana management committee member Moses Armah Parker.

The Ghanaian FA said: "The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has approved coach Kwesi Appiah’s decision to suspend Kevin-Prince Boateng indefinitely from the Black Stars. The decision takes immediate effect. The decision was taken in the wake of his unprovoked physical attack on an Executive Committee member of the GFA and a management member of the Black Stars "Boateng has since showed no remorse for his actions which has resulted in the decision. Muntari's and Boateng’s accreditation for the 2014 World Cup have been withdrawn with immediate effect.

Lagos Explosion Was A Car Bombing

Contrary to information sent out by Lagos State officials that yesterday’s explosion in the Apapa area of Lago scame from a gasoline tanker explosion,SaharaReporters has now learned that the frightening event was a car bombing. Two security sources disclosed that the explosion was apparently carried out by a female suicide bomber and was aimed at igniting several gasoline depots in the area.

The 9.15 p.m. explosion happened Tuesday on Creek Road near the Burma Road junction. One security source said the explosion could have triggered a massive inferno and inflicted a horrifying scale of casualties as well as damage to properties in the Apapa area, which is both a residential area as well as the hub of economic activities, including shipping, manufacturing, and storage of petrochemical products.

FIFA bans Luis Suarez for four months, fined $112,000


luiz suarez has been banned for four months from all football related activities by FIFA for biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during the Uruguay-Italy match played on June 24th.

Pandemonium broke out today at the University of Jos in Plateau state following an alleged sighting of a male suicide bomber in the school premises. Students and lecturers all took to their heels on hearing the rumor. (It's almost funny but its too serious). The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency is speaking out on the viral news of a four-seater airplane that allegedly got missing on Monday night after taking off from Kano airport, en-route to Libreville, Gabon.

NAMA stated that the plane did not disappear in Nigeria’s airspace.

Lagos explosion caused by fuel-laden tanker, not bomb - Police


The Lagos State Police command has refuted claims that the explosion that happened last night at Creek road in Apapa Lagos was caused by a bomb saying it was caused by a tanker carrying petrol
Force Public Relations officer, Ngozi Braide explains

“There is nothing whatsoever suggesting that it was a bomb explosion. It was a tanker loaded with fuel that burst into flames. Policemen are on ground there now and we cannot yet ascertain the casualty figures. But everything is under control,” she said. In a contradictory statement, Ibrahim Farinloye, the Spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA South-West said the cause of the fire was as a result of a gas cylinder explosion.

Boko Haram attacks military post, kills 16 soldiers, abducts some


Dozens of suspected members of Boko Haram sect on Tuesday June 24th carried out a deadly attack on a military post in Bulabulin Ngaura in Damboa LGA of Borno killing 16 soldiers, Punch reports.

According to one of the soldiers who escaped and spoke on anonymity to journalists, he said the sect men came in 30 vehicles mounted with anti-aircraft guns, caught them unawares and subdued them

"We were totally subdued by the insurgents. Some of my colleagues were abducted and many others escaped with bullet wounds. Dozens of Boko Haram insurgents stormed our checkpoint at Bulabulin on Tuesday night. The terrorists came in a convoy of over 30 vehicles, mounted with Anti Aircraft guns (AA). I was at the checkpoint when the terrorists came, we tried our best but they had advantage over us. They had AA and we had Ak47 rifles that are not fully loaded. When we realized that they had taken over the place, some of us escaped to Maiduguri and other places but many could not make it. As I am talking to you, 16 bodies of our colleagues have been brought to Maiduguri, this is apart from those that sustained injuries and many others that are missing.” he said
